Sam Harwood, LCSW


Sam (she/her) is a trauma-trained Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Chicago, Illinois. She holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver, with a concentration in Health and Wellness.

With nearly 15 years of experience, Sam has worked in schools, homes, communities, hospitals, and inpatient behavioral health settings. She supports individuals and families through stress, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and the complexities of the human experience. Guided by social justice, she believes therapy can be a tool for personal and collective healing.

A lifelong learner, Sam loves getting curious about people, cultures, places, art, and the many ways humans make meaning of their lives. She uses evidence-based approaches and trauma-informed techniques, bringing compassion, gentleness, and humor to her work. Sam creates a safe, supportive, judgment-free space where clients can explore thoughts, feelings, goals, and challenges at their own pace.

Services

  • A consultation call can be scheduled prior to an in-person appointment. This call is designed to help you learn more about Sam and Gold Heart Therapy, and ask any questions you may have around the therapeutic process, billing, scheduling, etc. Please fill out the contact form to schedule your initial consultation.

  • Individual therapy begins with an intake appointment. From there, you will work collaboratively with the therapist to establish goals, and build a therapeutic relationship. Individual therapy will be tailored to your specific needs and may include a variety of trauma-informed, evidenced-based modalities.

    Sessions are 50-minutes long and will take place in Evergreen, CO unless otherwise arranged with your therapist ahead of time.

  • In many cases, family support and involvement is a crucial part of an individual’s healing and therapeutic goals. Family therapy may include some or all members of your family. What makes a family is unique for everyone, and how you define your family unit is up to you.

    Family therapy is available for existing clients at the discretion of the therapist. If you are an existing client, please outreach Gold Heat Therapy to learn more about scheduling a family session.
